For making high density detergent powder, the required soda ash and sodium carbonate, as per formulation, is added in the blender and mixing is started by switching on the motor. Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphoric Acid, commonly known as Acid Slurry is slowly added through the opening of the lid of the blender. As the neutralisation of the slurry and soda ash progresses, the mass becomes brownish in colour and subsequently yellowish. At this point, slight water is sprinkled so that the mass becomes nearly white.
Alternatively, sodium hypochlorite solution as a bleaching agent may also be added, which will help in making the product whiter and brighter. Required colour is then added, followed by other ingredients such as sodium tripolypho-sphate, borax trisodium phosphate, carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium, sulphate, etc.
Finally, the perfume is added, and the mass transferred on to a vibrating screen, where the mass is sieved. As the powder comes out from the vibrating screen, the same is collected on G.I. tray, wherein the mass is spread and kept for ageing and finally spray drying. After Spraydrying, the powder is packed in ploythene bags.

What is a detergent powder manufacturing plant?
A detergent powder manufacturing plant is a facility where raw chemicals are processed, blended, dried, and packaged to produce powdered detergents for household or industrial cleaning. It involves mixing, saponification (optional), drying, screening, and packaging as the main steps.
What raw materials are used in detergent powder production?
Laundry detergents often include enzymes and brighteners. Industrial detergents may have fewer additives but higher alkalinity and cleaning power.
What is the process involved in manufacturing detergent powder?
Summary of Process Flow:

What is the typical capacity of a detergent powder plant?
The most typical capacity for a commercial detergent powder plant is about 10–200 tons per day.
What industries require detergent powder manufacturing plants?
Industries that require detergent powder include:
- Household / FMCG
- Hospitality & hotels
- Healthcare / hospitals
- Commercial laundry services
- Textile manufacturing
- Food processing
- Institutional & industrial cleaning
What are the advantages of installing an automated detergent powder plant?
- Higher output per hour
- Continuous production cycles
- Faster mixing, drying, and packaging processes
