Strainers are vertical vessels made of either CS (Carbon Steel) or SS (Stainless Steel) with wire filter element in SS and rotating brush inside, made of taflon. The strainers are predominately used for removing unwanted particles from crude oil. Since it is under close type operation, there is zero loss of hexane. After the filtration the sediments are discharged from the bottom of the vessel.
